Introduction to Rug Hooking

Log Cabin Design, 9 “Beginners Block”

The objective of this workshop is to introduce the student to the basics of rug hooking. It is hoped that by the end of the day, you will have enjoyed what you learned, and be ready to take on another project and learn more techniques.

Fee: $TBA (payable at registration) plus $TBA for materials (to be paid to the instructor). Please bring your own lunch.
Minimum of 6, maximum of 8 participants.
Instructor:  Susan Clarke

Instructor Bio:  Susan is an Ontario Hooking Craft Guild certified Teacher and has been a member of the OHCG since 2006. Her work is regularly shown at the OHCG Annuals, where she has won the Original Award (2014), Theme Award (2016), Wide Cut (Honourable Mention, 2018), and Fine Cut Award (2019) ribbons. Susan has published articles in the OHCG Newsletter and ATHA Magazine and contributed a chapter in Rug Hooking Magazine’s 2017 publication “Hooked Carpetbags”. Susan is passionate about colour and fibre arts.

Materials for use during the course will be provided. Student notes will be included, which covers course content and finishing the piece as a trivet.
